Summer is finally here and Tom and I are both enjoying the slower pace and time to be together more. Our bathroom remodel is finally finished, and we are thoroughly enjoying our new master bath! (My brother did an awesome job.) Now we are both catching up on writing projects that we hope to finish this summer. Tom is working on his new Sunday School series on Heaven and a book dealing with wine in the Bible while I'm trying to finish a textbook for my Women Counseling Women Specifics seminar. Tom is continuing to help with the school, but on a much more limited basis as a volunteer. Because he has a keen interest in the lives of the students and the continuing success of the school, he wants to remain on hand to give help and support as he is needed.

Tom's health continues to worsen, although his decline is still slow. He uses more oxygen, tires more easily, and has a more difficult time moving around without being connected to an oxygen supply. Still, he continues to teach his adult Sunday school class, lead the choir and orchestra, and play his trumpet some. It takes a lot out of him and requires a lot of determination, but he's still committed to doing all that he can as long as he can. We do so appreciate prayer and would ask that you pray God be glorified in our lives no matter how things unfold. And of course, we are praying for that lung transplant. Tom is encouraged by his sister's successful lung transplant and Lord willing, hopes to be another successful lung recipient!
